Welcome to Thimble Notes, a home for us to share insights into life at Thimble as well as thoughts on parenting, product recommendations, and the presidential election (just kidding--we have enough politics on our Facebook Newsfeed!).
What’s ahead for this blog
For new and expecting parents, we're developing some great content with tips on dressing your baby (of course), our favorite resources for capturing and sharing baby milestones, and advice for maintaining your sanity in the first few sleep-deprived months. We promise to keep things unique, interesting, and easy-to-digest.
For enthusiastic grandparents, aunts and uncles, and pseudo-family members, we'll be putting together some ideas on shopping the registry vs. going it alone as well as advice on how to be the best support for the growing family (including what not to do!).
What we’re up to right now
We also wanted to share a bit of what’s going on right now at Thimble. As the summer draws to a close, we’ve put many of our warm weather items on sale. Our Lucy Dress has been a favorite all summer and the Polka-Dot Chambray version will transition easily into Fall with a cardigan over it. We’ve also got some sale items for boys too, including our Jackson Overall with the ever-popular zipper closure.
We’re continuing to have a great time connecting with new friends at Boston's Sowa Market and South End Open Market. Follow us on Instagram to get updates on which Sundays we’ll be there so we can say hello in person. We love introducing folks to our line in person so they can experience firsthand the soft fabrics and small details that make our line so distinctive.
We’re also putting the finishing touches on our Fall line. Patti is a sewing force to be reckoned with and made countless samples each day as we perfected the fit and look to ensure each style is functional and comfortable in addition to being beautiful and stylish. We cannot wait to share the new looks with you in just a few weeks.
Plus, we're hiring! We’re looking for moms and dads in the West Michigan area to join our team. If you know any talented seamstresses, please send them our way. Don’t sew or live in West Michigan but want the opportunity to be a part of a growing team and work from home? Drop us a line letting us know what you’re great at and what you’re looking for. We love to collaborate with brands and folks who are passionate about family, kids’ fashion, and finding balance in this crazy world.
What’s next for Thimble
Our Fall line will launch in September and we’ll be releasing new styles and patterns over the following months. To celebrate the launch, we’ll be holding a pop-up at CouCou in Boston’s South End on September 9th and 10th. Stay tuned for more details.
We will also start booking Trunk Shows for the Fall. What does this look like? As a host, you simply invite some friends over and we’ll bring our Fall Collection for you all to shop together. Hosts will receive 10% of total show sales as credit towards their own purchase. This is a great way to have some fun catch-up time with friends, introduce them to a great mission-driven company, and get some adorable style for free. If you’re interested in hosting or attending a show in the Boston area, shoot us an email.
To get updates on events like these and see our styles in action, follow us on Instagram and Facebook. Have some questions or want us to cover something on the blog? Let us know in the comments. We cannot wait for what’s ahead and we’re so thankful to have you along for the ride!
